Union Bible College offers several scholarships for qualifying students in the various programs of study. We offer as well a valedictorian and a salutatorian scholarship for those students who have excelled in high school. In addition to these, a special “UBC Bucks” scholarship is offered to any entering freshman or any student transferring from another college.

We are trying to make the cost of education as reasonable as possible. These scholarships apply to tuition, room, and board. Fees and books are the student’s responsibility.

All monthly payment plans are channeled through the Finance Office. We can arrange payment plans for those who cannot pay a full semester at a time, although we offer discounts for those who can pay in full.

Please contact the Finance Office at (317) 896-9324 for details.

Another program offered at Union Bible College is the work scholarship program. There are a limited number of these scholarships available to qualifying students. An eligibility form must be turned in to the Finance Office to decide the amount that can be awarded to a student. The credit is either 50% of tuition, room and board for 20 work hours a week, or 25% of tuition, room, and board for 10 work hours a week.

Union Bible College & Academy is committed to financial transparency. Upon request, the most recent copy of the IRS Form 990 and audited financial statements will be made available to you. To request this information, please email Lanae Whitaker at lwhitaker@ubca.org

What is a UBC Scholarship?

An amount of money donated to fill a current memorial scholarship or create a new scholarship. The amount allotted will be placed in a restricted endowment fund used only for that particular scholarship. At the founders choice the donation can be invested to insure the scholarship will live on indefinitely. It can be allocated to any student who meets the criteria of the founder’s choice, such as:

  • major

  •  merit

  • and/or need, etc.

The scholarship investor will receive a picture of the student and an update from the student each quarter. This is a wonderful way to invest in the life of a student who is preparing for the ripened harvest field.

Union Bible College and Academy is committed to providing an excellent educational option at the most affordable rates possible, assisting every student financially, and enabling them to graduate DEBT FREE! One way in which this is accomplished is through our many scholarships (see a full list and descriptions below).

Scholarships are divided into two main categories: cash and endowments. Cash scholarships are designated to be distributed according to predetermined amounts for the life of the scholarship. Endowment scholarships are established by investing funds which yield annual dividends, which then are distributed, as designated by the donor. The latter is maintained in perpetuity.

New scholarships can be established at any time. For more information click the link below to contact President Buckler directly.

The Rev. Ray Williams Memorial Scholarship is provided from the estate of Rev. Ray & Mrs. Dorothy Schnell Williams whom the Lord used to greatly bless the school during a time of tremendous financial burden. This full tuition scholarship is presented to a worthy ministerial student.

This scholarship is provided from the estate of Rev. Ray & Mrs. Dorothy Schnell Williams, a dedicated couple who were instruments of the Lord in greatly blessing Union Bible College financially. This full tuition award is designated for a worthy ministerial student.

(Supporting Undergraduate Christian College Education through Endowment Designation) is designed to raise funds made available to qualify students in the typical amount of $500 and $1,000 increments. The SUCCEED scholarship will be given based on funds.

The Partnership Scholarship intends to encourage the enrollment and retention of full-time, on-campus, boarding students. The institution will match any UBCA Alumni, supporting church, or para-church organization that will underwrite a qualifying student with $1,000 annually (to be applied evenly over two consecutive semesters: external support applied for the first semester and internal support applied for the second semester).

Types of Gifts

Cash is the most widely used form of giving. A cash gift can be designated to any one of our funds, e.g. Scholarship Fund, Capital Campaign, Endowment Fund, etc. Cash gifts can be designated for both unrestricted and restricted purposes.

Giving securities may be a tax-wise way to help UBC students. Federal tax laws allow a charitable deduction for fair market value of securities based on the date of the gift. Gifts of securities can be designated for both unrestricted and restricted purposes. Begin the process by completing a Power of Securities transfer form.

Gifts of real estate include land and generally whatever is affixed to land, as well as those rights that issue out of land. A gift of real property may be accepted upon consent of the President, the Director of Development, and Board of Directors. Real estate gifts can be designated for both unrestricted and restricted purposes.

Gifts-in-kind are real property gifts, including works of art, collections, equipment, books, and other tangible personal property. Gifts-in-kind can be accepted if for purpose of value and/or can be used to fulfill the mission of UBC. Partners wishing to make gifts-in-kind may be asked to provide a qualified appraisal to establish value.

Gifts of life insurance can enable partners to maximize their giving and, perhaps, make a larger gift than they ever thought possible. Gifts of life insurance can be made in one of two ways. First, a partner can name Union Bible College as primary or secondary beneficiary on their policy (appropriate change of beneficiary forms can be obtained from the donor’s insurance company). Second, a partner can make Union Bible College both owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy on the donor’s life. Life insurance gifts can be designated for both unrestricted and restricted purposes. Partners interested in making this type of gift should contact the Office of Development.

Memorial gifts are those gifts in memory of a loved one. Union Bible College is delighted to honor, via memorial gifts, your cherished loved ones who have demonstrated a Christian walk that is consistent with the Scriptures. Memorial gifts can be designated for both unrestricted and restricted purposes.

Deferred or life estate gifts are gifts that are considered future gifts to Union Bible College. They may be in the form of life insurance, a will, a trust, or an annuity. These types of gifts are a wonderful and lasting testimony of our partner’s wish to continue his/her stewardship interests after death. Contact the Office of Development.

Thousands of companies are willing to match their employees’, and sometimes their retirees’, gifts. This is a tremendous way to maximize your stewardship. To find out if your company matches employee gifts, please check with your Human Resource Department. A complete listing is found at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
