The primary purpose of the Christian Service Department of Union Bible College is to help students love God with all their heart and their neighbor as themselves; to glorify God by participating in His redemptive plan; to be ministers of reconciliation in the world; and to embody the principle that ministry is life, and we are all ministers.
Demonstrate a vision for reaching lost people.
Have a desire to build the Kingdom of God rather than a personal empire.
Are fervent in spirit and live our the Word of God.
Are ministers of reconciliation developing and using their individual spiritual gifts within the context of the local church.
Demonstrate the virtues of diligence, faithfulness, and perseverance.
Christian Service is designed to develop integrity and a strong relationship with God through small group accountability and to develop the gift God has given each student within the context of a local body of believers, thereby enabling them to live out the philosophy that ministry is life and we are all ministers. Students receive training in basic evangelism and discipleship skills and then use those skills to engage in a variety of ministries such as mission work, preaching, ministry to the elderly, personal evangelism, children’s services, gospel team work, hospital and prison ministry, and working with local churches.
